What is Ideogram 4.5?
Ideogram 4.5, released on September 30, 2026, is Ideogram's most precise image editing model. Earlier models regenerate the whole picture on every edit, so faces shift, text warps and quality erodes round after round — a failure Ideogram calls drift. Version 4.5 is built to confine each change to exactly the region you specify and keep untouched elements stable across long edit chains, at native 2K resolution. Ideogram also announced distribution partnerships with Picsart, Runway, Pika and Leonardo AI, and pricing runs across four quality tiers reported from 0.8¢ to 22¢ per image.
That precision only pays off if your instructions are precise too. A vague prompt makes the model guess; a structured prompt — design type, subject, exact quoted text in reading order, hex colors, layout — leaves nothing to chance. That is what the builder above assembles for you.
How to write a good Ideogram 4.5 prompt
Lead with the design type. "A menu board…", "Product packaging…" — the first words set the model's whole layout logic.
Quote every word that must appear. Text in quotation marks is treated as literal copy. List lines in reading order and give each a role (headline, price, call-to-action) so size and placement come out right.
Use hex codes for brand colors. "Teal" is a guess; #0F766E is an instruction.
One change per edit turn. 4.5's strength is multi-turn editing — spend it wisely. Change the headline, check it, then change the background. Bundling five changes into one turn brings drift back.
Say what stays. In every edit, explicitly list what must remain unchanged: other text, faces, palette, layout.
Draft cheap, render once. Iterate at the lowest quality tier, then render only the final keeper at top quality.
Turn Magic Prompt off for exact text. It expands and rewrites prompts — great for vague ideas, risky for menus and packaging.
Example prompts (copy & adapt)
☕ Café menu board
A modern minimalist menu board design featuring a rustic café chalkboard on a warm cream wall. The text reads, in order: "MORNING BREW CAFÉ" (large headline at the top), "Fresh Croissants — $4" (menu item line), "Oat Latte — $5" (menu item line), "Open daily 7:00–19:00" (small footer text). Color palette: deep teal (#0F766E), warm cream (#FFF7E6), accent coral (#FF6B57). Composition: centered composition with generous negative space. Mood and lighting: warm natural daylight. Avoid: no people, no watermark, no extra text, no distorted letters.
🧴 Skincare product ad
A luxury editorial poster design featuring a frosted glass serum bottle on wet stone beside green leaves, water droplets on the surface. The text reads, in order: "LUMIÈRE" (large headline at the top), "Vitamin C Serum" (subheadline), "Glow in 14 days" (call-to-action near the bottom). Color palette: sage green (#9CAF88), ivory (#FFFFF0), charcoal (#36454F). Composition: rule-of-thirds layout. Mood and lighting: soft studio lighting. Background: soft gradient, subtle mist. Avoid: no hands, no watermark, no extra text.
🎯 Multi-turn edit (turn 2)
Edit this image (in-image text modification): change the headline price from "$12" to "$9" and set the headline text color to coral red (#FF6B57). This is the second edit in a multi-turn session — apply only this change. Keep unchanged: the subject and its position; all other text, its wording, fonts and placement; the background; the lighting and shadows. Preserve the original resolution and fine detail in all unedited areas.
